The story behind the name:
Klipspringer Coaching
Native to South and East Africa and often found on the Serengeti Plain, the Klipspringer stands a mere 2 feet tall. Despite a small stature, these spritely yet powerful creatures are able to thrive in an unforgiving environment and traverse difficult terrain with exceptional grace. They can adeptly leap incredible heights five times their own and land on a stone the size of a silver dollar ——in a single bound.
The name Klipspringer is Dutch for “rock jumper”. They live among ancient rock formations called kopje (ˈkä-pē) that offer both protection and strategic vantage points. Highly adaptable, they also live in riverbeds, rocky hills, and mountains with altitudes up to 13,000 feet (a place where you and I would need extra oxygen). Exceptionally well-adapted, Klipspringers possess firm hollow hair that helps protect them from the blazing heat as well as tiny, suction cup-like hooves that enable them to navigate the steep-sided rocky outcrops of the African plains.
